Description
Yala National Park is the most visited & second largest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. The Park consist of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as Ruhuna & Kumana National Park or ‘Yala east” for adjoining area. It is important for conservation of Sri Lankan elephant, leopards and aquatic birds.
Best Time to Visit: June to September
Open from 06 am to 06 pm. advisable to visit early morning.
